Our story

We began seventeen years ago with a simple observation: many private gardens in England were being maintained rather than truly cared for. The difference matters.

Founded by trained horticulturists who'd worked on National Trust properties and private estates, we set out to offer something different. Not just mowing and tidying, but genuine horticultural management grounded in plant knowledge, seasonal understanding, and respect for each garden's character.

Today we work across the Cotswolds, Oxfordshire, and surrounding counties, caring for forty-two private gardens ranging from compact walled spaces to multi-acre estates. Some clients have been with us since the beginning.

Knowledge over procedure

We train our team to understand why certain tasks matter at specific times. It's the difference between following a schedule and responding to what plants actually need.

Restraint and timing

Not every garden requires constant intervention. We've learned when to act decisively and when to observe. Good gardening often means knowing what not to do.

Ecological consideration

Beautiful gardens can also support wildlife. We balance aesthetic goals with habitat creation, using integrated pest management and encouraging beneficial species.

Long-term thinking

Our approach extends beyond immediate appearance. We consider soil health, plant succession, climate adaptation, and how decisions today affect the garden five years from now.

Our team

Every person who works on your garden holds a professional qualification in horticulture, arboriculture, or landscape management. Most have additional specialisms: heritage roses, topiary, fruit trees, or ecological planting.

We don't use subcontractors. All work is carried out by directly employed staff who understand our standards and approach. Many have been with us for over a decade.

Continuing education is part of our culture. Team members regularly attend courses, visit notable gardens, and study new research in soil science and plant pathology.

How we work

Every new engagement begins with a detailed site assessment. We walk the garden, observe drainage patterns, test soil, note existing plantings, and discuss your goals and concerns.

From this we develop a management plan specific to your property. This isn't a generic template but a considered document outlining what needs to happen, when, and why.

Our teams arrive at agreed times, work efficiently and quietly, and leave the garden immaculate. We communicate proactively about seasonal tasks, potential issues, and opportunities we notice.

You'll work with the same team members consistently. They learn your garden's idiosyncrasies, remember your preferences, and develop an intuitive understanding of the space.
